Webinar Blueprint Social Value Chain Assessment 2019

Webinar II - How can tour operators assess human rights impacts in their value chains?

Wednesday 2 October, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 am CET

Content:

This one-hour webinar follows the 28 August webinar on the Roundtable’s “blueprint” tool with step-by-step guidance through the process of a destination specific human rights impact assessment (HRIA) for tour operators. The recording of the first webinar is available on the Roundtable website.

This second webinar will take place shortly after the actual on-site assessment in Thailand and Myanmar, which took place from 5 to 17 September 2019.

The webinar will focus on how to assess potential and actual human rights-related impacts of business activities in a selected tourism destination. The first findings of the on-site assessment will be shared and discussed:

  • How the on-site schedule was developed and what experiences were made?
  • How stakeholders were consulted and the results collected?
  • What challenges came up and what learnings were made?
  • How to develop and implement an action plan with follow-up measures based on the human rights impacts identified?

During the webinar, participants

  • receive up-to date information on the conducted on-site assessment,
  • hear about the analysis of the collected information,
  • learn how the results of the on-site assessment are implemented in the development of the blueprint tool,
  • learn about the development of follow-up measures and an action plan to address the issues identified, and
